My family have had Golden Retrievers since the early 1970's, the dogs were kept as family pets and they were also used for picking up and rough shooting. My aunt Miriam bought me my first Golden Retriever in 1979 when I was just 2 year's old, his name was 'Paddy' and I have had this lovely breed ever since. At Tamniarn we have Golden's from Show Lines and Field Trialling Lines. We compete in the both the ring and the field and our dogs pick up during the shooting season.
TRAINING We live deep within the Sperrin Mountain range in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have over 30 acres of land to train on with terrain ranging from moss/ rushes/woods/ streams and a river running through, which all provide excellent opportunities for the dogs to develop their hunting and retrieving ability which helps to develop their confidence.
